Bringing Asia’s top blockchain builders to a regional stage

Developers pick up a chain by building on it. We helped ICP Hub Indonesia bring Indonesian developers together for 48 hours, with the people, tools, and room to build on Internet Computer Protocol.
Knowing about a chain isn’t the same as building on it. Indonesia’s developer community is growing fast. Many of those developers haven’t yet had the chance to work with advanced Web3 technology, or to build something real with it. ICP lets developers build apps and smart contracts directly on-chain, without traditional cloud services, but a developer network only grows when people build on it. ICP Hub Indonesia wanted to give developers that chance.
We brought developers together, then gave them 48 hours to build. We designed a 48-hour hackathon where competition and collaboration went hand in hand. We selected 130 developers from 400+ applicants, then coordinated mentorship and workshops on ICP’s tools and APIs, so they had help while they built. Coinfest owned the experience from choosing who was in the room to guiding what they built, and Coinfest Asia gave it a stage: a hackathon that sat inside the festival, not beside it.
Interest became builders. More than 400 developers applied, 350+ of them from Indonesia. 130 were selected and spent 48 hours building with ICP’s tools and APIs. USD 15,000 in prizes and USD 35,000 in participation rewards were distributed. For ICP Hub Indonesia, that meant a room full of developers building hands-on, not just reading the docs.
